Welcome to FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association

FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBINCAAA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation on community outreach programs to promote public safety through community engagement, education, and service initiatives. We are joined by more than 53,000 community leaders serving as volunteer ambassadors for the FBI in nearly 60 FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association Chapters. Members are graduates of the FBI Citizens Academy Program.

FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association supports community outreach priorities of the FBI by governing, leading, and serving local FBINCAAA Chapters. Our role is three-fold:

  • Support Chapter outreach and operations through expert counsel, peer networking, training, and resources;
  • Serve as the official governing organization, interface, and liaison with FBI Headquarters;
  • Provide compliance oversight of FBINCAAA agreements, policies, and procedures.

Building Safer Communities through Citizen Leadership

Local Chapters are the backbone of FBINCAAA. Dedicated to making neighborhoods safe vibrant places to live, work, and play, Chapter members work hand in hand with FBI Field Offices to deliver outreach programs such as:

  • PUBLIC EDUCATION INITIATIVES to raise awareness of community safety issues and support prevention of cyber crime, violent extremism, drugs, terrorism, gang activity, public corruption and other criminal activities.
  • COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS to equip citizens with information, tools and resources to address public safety issues such as opioid addiction, hate crimes, online scams, human trafficking, and active shooter situations.
  • LAW ENFORCEMENT PARTNERSHIPS that facilitate collaborative relationships among federal, state, and local law enforcement, and promote positive community and law enforcement relationships.
  • COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS to help at risk populations through food drives, clothing donations, childhood reading programs, senior meals, and school supplies.
  • INCIDENT AND DISASTER RESPONSE to provide support for law enforcement, first responders, and victims of major crimes such as mass shootings or natural disasters such as hurricanes or tornadoes.

FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association provides the oversight, systems, and mechanisms to guide, lead, and support successful operations of affiliate chapters and volunteer leaders aligned to local FBI Field Office needs.

About the FBI Citizens Academy Program

The FBI Citizens Academy Program offers business, religious, civic, and community leaders an immersive, engaging experience into the inner workings, mission and priorities of the FBI. The goal of the program is to foster a greater understanding of the role of federal law enforcement in the community through frank discussion and education.

Programs are held at FBI field offices around the country. FBI employees, former Citizens Academy Program graduates, and community leaders nominate candidates for the program. Once completed, graduates in good standing are eligible to join the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association.

Visit the website of your local FBI Field Office to learn more about the program, application requirements, and submission deadlines.
